About MyPassbook

What we do

MyPassbook is an independent rate-comparison tool for fixed deposits in India. We collect interest-rate data directly from the official websites of every Scheduled Commercial Bank regulated by the Reserve Bank of India, and store the bank’s own wording beside the rate page, and publish the results in a filterable format — free of charge and without requiring an account. Our goal is to give depositors a single, reliable place to compare rates across all bank types and citizen categories.

What we don't do

MyPassbook is not a financial advisor and does not recommend any bank or deposit product. We do not earn referral fees or commissions from banks. We do not source rate data from third-party aggregators — every rate on this site is extracted directly from the publishing bank's own website. We do not store banking credentials, OTPs, or any sensitive account information; comparing rates requires no login.

Methodology

How we verify rates

  1. We read each rate from the bank’s own published rate page — never from an aggregator, never from a press report.

  2. The rate is stored with the bank’s own sentence beside it, word for word, and the date the bank said it takes effect.

  3. Nothing reaches this site automatically. A person approves each bank’s rate card before a single row of it becomes visible.

  4. Once verified, the updated rate is published on MyPassbook with a timestamp and a link to the originating bank page.
